20th Generation Chen Family Taijiquan Successor- Master Asr Cordes is a senior disciple of 19th Generation Chen family Taijiquan Successor, Grandmaster Cheng Jin Cai. He has practiced various martial arts since 1978 and has specialized in Chinese internal martial arts since 1992. Having trained intensely and closely under the guidance and tutelage of Grandmaster Cheng since September of 1995,  Master Asr gained deep development and insight into the art of Chen Style Taijiquan.

 

Master Asr is an internationally published martial arts journalist/ historian. He has been a regional, national and international gold medalist from 1996-2001 in Taijiquan empty hand, weapons, and push hands competitions.  In 1999 Grandmaster Cheng honored Master Asr by selecting him to open the second location of the International Chen Style Tai Chi Development Center. Again He was honored by Grandmaster Cheng in 2003 by being selected to be the first of only five disciples that he has inducted as 20th Generation successors of the Chen Family Taijiquan Lineage. Since Then master Asr has relocated to San Diego, Ca Where he founded the International Chen Style Taijiquan Research Organization and has taught extensively in San Diego and Mexico.
